Future Plans

1. Institutional Development Unit

The Foundation has a plan to extend the working area over the next 5 years. Therefore, it is necessary to build the Foundation into a research and evaluation unit. The Foundation seeks to establish a collaborative network and partnership with Government, other national and international organisations, public trusts and corporations, for which a research and evaluation unit is essential. It intends to serve as a catalyst in the development field rather than as a mere implementer. Hence it seeks support from the donor organisations to establish an Institutional Development Unit. IDU aims at not only raising funds to sustain the organisation, but also influence the attitudes of people towards women's issues. It will have both long term and short term goals and strategies.

2. Building the Corpus Fund

The foundation has an overall goal of raising Rs.15,000,000 (US$375,000; EU263,000), a sufficient amount to undertake project activities, by 2011. Potential donors are asked to consider monetary contributions at a level of Rs.200,000 or greater. ($5,000; EU 3,500)

Management of Corpus Fund

The Board of Trustee has established a hierarchy of oversight and control of financial matters, which consists of Foundation Director, the Finance Committee and the Board. Each of these has specified spending authority, defined both by amount and type of expenditure. Corpus funds are invested in secure, conservative financial instruments. Interest will be reinvested. Upon attainment of the current goal, the funds will be used to support the continuing core needs of the organization, in support of its project activities. The principal will remain untouched. These provisos are governed by the Trust Fund Act [India]
