KWIRC - A special wing
A new wing at the foundation known as Karnataka Women’s Information & Resource Center (KWIRC) was set up in 1996 in order to document & dessiminate the information related to women's political rights and gender equity. Under the aegis of the center, several projects are being taken up.
Conference Facilities
The Foundation in its premises has two conference rooms one with AC and other without AC. Each room has seating arrangements for 25 people. These rooms are well equipped with modern furniture and communications equipment within the existing building, which includes the library/documentation center. There are two central halls and two lawns which could be used for arranging high tea.
The facilities are intended primarily for use of the foundation for its activities. However, they could be made available to organisation whose aims and objectives are similar to the Foundation.
Serene - A plant santuary
Serene a sanctuary of rare botanical and medicinal plants developed over a period of forty years by Mr. & Mrs. M.A. Sreenivasan, was established in 1999. Today, Serene has more than 350 species of plants including shrubs, herbs, climbers, trees, epiphytes and water plants. More than 100 species of medicinal plants are maintained in the garden and an exclusive herbal garden of about 95 species has been added. Rare species of economic, ecological and medicinal value are also grown in the garden. More>>
Training Center
The other extension to the Foundation is a training centre, that is being used for training rural women in cultivation and uses of medicinal plants. A plant-processing unit equipped with laboratory facilities required for the extraction and processing of herbal and medicinal plants is also set up.
